How to compare upgrade payback
Divide the cost of each upgrade by its additional Cash per minute. For steady income with no recurring cost, the smaller result is the shorter payback. Enter both choices above to calculate the time in minutes. This compares your inputs, not a verified game-stat database.
How to measure extra Cash per minute
- Measure Cash earned over a fixed interval with your current setup. Divide the income by the number of minutes.
- Use a comparable interval after one upgrade. Keep your route, active boosts, and other upgrades unchanged.
- Subtract the earlier income rate from the later rate. Enter that difference as extra Cash per minute.
If you have not bought an upgrade, you need a reliable estimate of its additional income. A movement-speed or efficiency multiplier does not automatically equal the same multiplier for total Cash income.
The calculation
Payback in minutes = upgrade cost ÷ additional Cash per minute. This is a general arithmetic comparison, not a simulation of the game. It assumes income stays steady and the upgrade has no additional recurring cost.
What the result does not include
Unlock requirements, colony limits, random rolls, temporary boosts, future upgrades, and interactions between upgrades may change your choice. No game-specific upgrade prices or income presets are included.
A worked example
These are illustrative numbers, not actual game prices. Assume upgrade A costs 100,000 Cash and adds 5,000 Cash per minute; upgrade B costs 300,000 and adds 10,000 per minute. A pays back in 20 minutes (100,000 ÷ 5,000); B pays back in 30 minutes (300,000 ÷ 10,000). A recovers its cost sooner even though B adds more income per minute.
Calculator, game UI, or a published guide?
| Resource | Useful for | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| This calculator | Comparing payback from cost and additional income | Depends on your inputs; does not fetch game data |
| The current game UI | Reading the offered price, effect, and unlock requirements | You still need to measure or estimate extra income |
| A dated published guide | Finding reported items and explanations | May describe an earlier update; check prices in the game |

No. All inputs remain in this browser page. There is no account connection or automatic game-data access.
What do K, M, B, T, Qa, and Qi mean here?
This calculator uses thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, and quintillion. It supports 100k and 1.5M, for example. Compare suffixes with the current game UI before entering a value.
